For vmware3 take a look into
/usr/local/share/doc/vmware/MultipleInstaces.FreeBSD.
In the virtual machines interface config dialog select type "Custom" and
allocate your interfaces (/dev/vmnet1, /dev/vmnet2, etc.) to your vmware
instances.
