    But i read in fbsd there should be already (experimental i think) a

    This is what the dumpe2fs says:

    Filesystem revision #: 1 (dynamic)
    Filesystem features: dir_index filetype sparse_super

    I Think (and correct me if i'm wrong) that "dynamic" means that
    large_file support is enable in the fs.

    Actually it's what i did.
    I used split and then merged again back.
    But i don't like it very much ;-)
