Big external drives - which filesystem?

Is NTFS an option?

You should check the archives ... but I believe the answer to
that is "No." Last I remember, NTFS write support was broken and
read support was flakey in strange ways (i.e. worked for some people
some of the time).
(I just added an external disk for back-up purposes myself but
was able to format it as UFS2, so no problem.)
