The card uses a DL-2000 chipset. I found a patch that was intended to make
things work but, it doesn't work. I suppose that I'll have to check out the
Intel PRO/1000 MF or Netgear that you suggest.

Do you know what chipset it is ?

I've had good luck with Netgear GA620 cards, both fiber and copper.
