    Query :

I have my ISO image spilling over by few megs to more
than what my CD can hold ;-)

Since its the customized OS CD of HP-UX I will want to
split this into 2 ISO ?? so that while installing
it asks me for the CD 2 of 2 ..

How can this be achieved ....??

There are blank CDs that can hold 800 MB (90 minutes)
and I've even heard of up to 100 minutes (900 MB).

Then I don't know if the target machine is equipped
with a dvd-reader and you have the option to write to
dvd? That can hold way over 4 GB...

If it is some installation cd (-image) you best look
at the swpackage, swinstall and ignite-ux products.
With swinstall and swpackage, you can install also to
file-targets to create a bundle. With that, you can
    create 2 out of one.

If it is not HP-UX bundle/package/install medium, I'm
sorry. If it is, you should repackage with
swinstall/swpackage. I don't know if you can get the
'now install next disk' but you will be able to
install it nice and easy. BTW: take care of the
cross-dependencies, best to put them in one medium.

    -------------
Ignite/UX doesn't understand anything about CDROMs so
there is no method to split the backup. In order for
    this to work,
Ignite would have to know that the CDROM was
incomplete. You'll have to reduce the size of vg00.
    Typically, you can
reduce logfiles in /var/adm, commit patches in
/var/adm/sw(removes the back-out images) and separate
    non-OS directories
onto a different volume group (like /home).

    Thankyou Bill & Beerse

Most of you might have landed in this situation...
still I think you Gurus have more thoughts to this....

    Cheers

    Deepak
