    Setup - L class with 4 cards.

Assigned a ip to a unused card. It adds route for
    itself.

How do I control this or this is the default
    behaviour?

My default route points to firewall. I can not telnet
onto new ip because there is no route for new ip on
    firewall.

I will have to change default route.

    But when you do

    ifconfig lan0 xxx.xx.xx.xxx up mask xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
it adds route entry for itself.

    Thanks in advance.
