I have a system with 4 internal disks, none of which are mirrored in four
    volume groups.

The disk with vg00 on it is damaged and we now have a new disk.

Unfortunately, we did not have a make_recovery tape since it's a development
server and not a production one.

I have booted from CD and have started installing HP-UX onto the new disk
after setting the filesystems to be the same as on the system before the
disk was damaged. I.e. made them the same size and added a couple of our
    own.

Once the HP-UX install has gone on, I am expecting to have to restore from
backup. (Yes, we do have a full system backup).

However, the question is what do install. I would assume you would not
overwrite everything as some system files may be different.

What about the other three volume groups, would they need to be restored
    with vgcfgrestore.

I have looked at the HP Docs but they all seem to assume you have a
make_recovery tape which isn't much good to me!

    Hope someone can help,
    Nick.
