    Hello all,

Could somebody tell me what might be the reason for receiving the error message after issuing the following command :

    # ypinit -s <nis_master_server>

Transferring group.bygid for domain system from server1...
ypxfr: bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC: Program not registered
ypxfr: bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC: Program not registered

o you want this procedure to quit on non-fatal errors? [y/n: n] y

There will be no further questions. The remainder of the procedure, copying
the databases from server1, will take a few minutes.

Note that if your master NIS server, server1, is an HP machine, it is
expected that the NIS databases ethers.byaddr, and ethers.byname
will not exist for you to copy. As a result, you may ignore any "no such map"
error messages produced when those maps are attempted to be transferred.
This may also be true if noksrv1 is not an HP machine.

If your master NIS server, server1, is not an HP machine, it is expected
that the NIS database vhe_list will not exist for you to copy, and you may
ignore any "no such map" error messages seen when it is attempted to be
transferred. This may also be true if noksrv1 is an HP machine and
its ypmake(1M) is from an older release.

Transferring group.bygid for domain noknms from server1...
ypxfr: bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC: Program not registered
ypxfr: bind_to_server clntudp_create error: RPC: Program not registered

By your request, ypinit is quitting as a result of the error.

***** ALL DATABASES BUILT THUS FAR HAVE BEEN DISCARDED *****

Determine what the problem is, fix it and run ypinit all over again to create
    a complete set of databases.

And what is vhe_list used for ?

Thank you very much indeed for any hints in anticipation,

    Regards,
    Artur
