    Folks,

Okay, question for the guru's....... My /tmp directory was getting full, at
the 97%. Looked there and there were ~2500 files that were dating back
almost 2 years. (my apps guys were writing out to the wrong area.) So I
logged on one night to run this command:

    find / \(-name "*.lis"\) -atime +7 -exec rm {} \;

Based on what I saw in the find man pages and what I did searching the
itrc.com web site, this command should look for any files ending in .lis
that are over 7 days old and remove them. HOWEVER, I inadvertantly ran it
at the root level. I immediately did a control C to stop the command. The
command stopped fine, but something happened to the system. I could not
telnet into the box at all, nor could I ftp, telnet, rlogin etc. out of the
system. I could ftp, rlogin, rcp etc to the system from both NT and other
unix systems. I thought it must have something to do with inetd. So I
started it several times to know avail. Contacted HP and they didn't really
know. They were able to duplicate my problem, and what we found out was
/stand/dlkm had been updated somehow. The only solution was to rebuild from
    an ignite tape.

Anyone have any idea what this find command did?

    Cheers,

    Jim Langston
