    Hi admins,
I got nice answers, but no soultion for the problem. Maybe I could not explain it good enough (I will try it again at the bottom :-|)

Most answered "why you using wu_ftp" -> answer: it is a directive from our global security team (grmmpf).
What should I am useing: sftp (really nice and it comes with openssh) or pure-ftpd

Also some hints about ls and the needed shared libraries, but I tried it with copying the libs in the chroot-dirs and have copied the /sbin/ls nothing helps.

New try to explain the problem:
The 11.00 installation from wu_ftp with no problems, configuring no problem, ftp to this machine no problem and try the ls and the user is seeing her/his files (oh wonder it works fine.

The 10.20 installation from wu_ftp => no depot, not longer supported, no engineering more on this system. I have compiled it by myself and have copied the 11.00 ftpaccess config file to the 10.20 machine. The new ftpd works fine and the configuration is working for me.
Now the problem: the user is ftp-ing to the 10.20 and get a connect, but the ls did not show anything (all permissions are correct and user specific).

I have tried to copy /sbin/ls to users-chroot-dir/usr/bin/ls and users-chroot-dir/bin/ls, but it does not help.

Thanx a lot for your help in despite of the fact it not solve my problem.
    Klaus
