    We are an Oracle shop with several rp7400 connected with fibre to an XP raid array. I wanted to get an idea of how other shops are doing "data archiving". The idea is to use some kind of cheap disk/storage media. Whether we need disk connected to the same box or not is still not known.

    The archiving software uses a proprietary database for the archived data.

    We're looking at software that does data archiving. I have to recommend some low cost storage solutions for this project. Is anybody out there doing "data archiving" ? If so, what kind of storage do you use?
