Sorry for the offtopic question may there are some linux gurus also here :)

We have the following problem in redhat 7.3

Problem is about host resolution. If dns lookup is enabled in nsswitch.conf and host.conf , and the host search
order is like files nis dns in nsswitch.conf, It takes very long time to resolve the host when trying to make telnet, ftp etc..
I have found a bug report on redhat side : bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=57998
As I have undestood, if dns is in the search order, client is trying a ipv6 host query from dns and since
we are not using ipv6 it is taking so much time. We have to use nis and dns together in our env.
Do we have any workaround about this issue ?

    Thanks,Regards!
