    Ernesto,

    you can use ``ioscan'' to determine number of disks connected and their state.

    :/root/home/root (root) ioscan -fnC disk
    Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
    ======================================================================
    disk 0 8/0.3.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE SEAGATE ST39236LC
                             /dev/dsk/c0t3d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t3d0
    disk 1 8/0.4.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE SEAGATE ST39173WC
                             /dev/dsk/c0t4d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t4d0
    disk 2 8/0.5.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE SEAGATE ST34572WC
                             /dev/dsk/c0t5d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t5d0

    ...

    Where S/W State means state of the disk (CLAIMED, UNCLAIMED, DIFF_HW, NO_HW, ERROR, SCAN).

    Refer to manual page for ``ioscan'' for further details.

    Kind regards,
