Anyone have experience with this? I have one with a single channel attached
to a DS2300 with seven drives configured in RAID 5 fully populating ½ of the
split bus. The system is an rp5470 with two CPU's. The performance is
horrendous. I know there are write penalties associated with RAID 5 but
this is ridiculous. We run RAID 5 elsewhere with much better results.

If I were to populate the other side of the DS2300, use another channel from
the 4Si card to access it, and stripe my LV's across the two LUNs, what
performance increase do you think I'd see? Any? Since the 4Si occupies a
single PCI slot, is the throughput going to be limited by the backplane
bandwidth? Or am I going to effectively double my Ultra SCSI bandwidth?

    Thanks in advance.

    Craig
