Hi,
I read that hostname length of hpux 11.i OS could be of maximum 64
chars. But the preferred length is 8 chars due to the restriction
imposed by "uname" command as it returns only initial 8 chars of
hostname.
Now my question is that how to overcome this problem. Means that if I
still wish to assign more than 8 chars to hostname, "uname" returning me
whole hostname instaed of just 8 chars, can I do this? Any patch or any
other solution?
Could someone help me?
Thanks and Regards,
Manoj
