I'm curious as to why you switch between trusted and untrusted modes. If
possible, it would be best to leave it in one mode or the other (I prefer
trusted because of the additional security features available).

Subject: [HPADM] User root locked while screen locked

    Hy gurus,

    I have HPUX11i with non-trusted mode.
When installing our application, we do it from the local console with root
    user.
During this installation, the system is put in trusted mode and then our
    applications are installed.
This installation can take 2 hours and the operator doesn't stay in front
    of the console.
When the operator is coming back, the screen is locked : we enter the
password but it doesn't work because in the trusted mode, the system asks
to change the password, but the displayed screen doesn't allow this
    operation.
The only way we find in this situation is to power OFF the server.

Is there a way to avoid going in this situation, or something else than
    power OFF ?

    Thanks by anticipation
    R. Lapointe
