    Thanks to all who replied.

Here is how I wiped the disks..
    1. Remove LV and VG information.
    2. mediainit the LUN's
    3. Created 1 large VG and LV
    4. Set a 'while true' loop to echo '1' into a file
    5. waited for the LV to be filled up
    6. waited some more :)
    7. deleted the text file
    8. removed LV and VG information

Moving the disks around within the raid unit was also mentioned,
rebuilding the array from the raid unit interface and changing the LUN
    sizes.

The consensus seems to be that removing the LV and VG information is
enough to stop 'accidental' data recovery, and mediainit is enough to
prevent all but the most determined. I guess it boils down to how
valuable your data is versus how long it will take someone to recover
    that data.

    Thanks to:

    John Adams,
    Roman Gudz,
Bill (is there anything he doesn't know) Hassell,
    Justin Willoughby,
    Jeff Lightner,
    Bob Vance,
    Brett Geer,
    Ruby Domalanta,
    Steffen Jaiser
