[HPADM] Filtering Messages in the Syslog File

Dear Fellow SAs:
I need to avoid recording some messages in the
syslog.log file. These are some unnessary messages
thrown at one of my servers from the Networking team.
It keeps throwing messages from a Router giving me all
sorts of status of the Ports etc. etc which are of no
interest to me. I see these message in the syslog.log
file and again on the console of the server too.
Is there any thing I can do to avoid it. Right now the
only way I can do this is shut the syslog daemon off.
But, I do lose a lot of SA related alerts by doing
that and I do not want to do that. Any input from you
would be most appreciated.
Regards,
NEIL
