[HPADM] Compiling on HP-UX with cc

Beginner question...
I thought 'cc' would be a compiler. I figured I could
simply do something like 'cc -c some_code.c' and get
executable code. Is that how cc works?
I've used gcc on Linux before, I've just never used
cc on HP-UX or Solaris.
A google search can't seem to bring up anything quickly on
'how to compile on HP-UX (without gcc)'.
Unless someone can point me to a gcc download for HP-UX...
I tried using a cross-compiler on Linux, but I'm a bit in a
hurry, and the parisc-linux cross-compiler howto is a bit
more involved than I'm interested in playing around with.
