[HPADM] Name lookup order in 9.x ?

Anyone here rember how to set up the order names are looked up
in under 9.x?

I need to make the order files -> DNS, but every time I
create an /etc/resolv.conf, it seems to ignore the /etc/hosts
file.

I realize this is ancient historym but I have a legacy system
that would be dificult (if possible at all) to upgrade.
