Hi Admins,
I have a server (model: rp8420, OS: 11.11, applications: Informix and Oracle DBs).
Since it goes live 7 months ago, I notice nflocks kernel parameter utilization (extracted from MeasureWare) has increased from about 30% to 40%. Currently nflocks value is 16820.
Questions:
1. What is the guideline to set this kernel parameter for growth planning?
2. What actually contributes to this nflocks utilization?
3. What is the setback if it's set too high?
The objective here is set it to optimum value without compromising system performance.
