This all sounds a bit odd to me.

PVLinks is and has been available. It is multi-pathing for failover,
regardless if the controllers are active/active or active/passive.

Are you saying that in HPUX 11iV3 that there will be in addition to
multi-pathing, a dynamic I/O capability? Where I/O can be balanced down
these multi-paths (whether round-robin, load balanced, etc...)

HPUX includes pvlinks for multi-pathing solutions, but only on
active/active controllers (EVA 4k/6k/8k, as well as the VCS 4.x firmware
for EVA 3k/5k). See

HPUX 11iV3 will include native multi-pathing solutions, but for now (and
if the controllers are active/passive), pay products such as SecurePath
or Veritas Volume Manager DMP are still the way to go.

Does anyone know if HPUX will start using another MPIO soon, similar to
