HP-UX Administrators,
I was looking for a download URL on hp.com for the HP
Starbase Graphics Library software for HP-UX 11.0.
While I never found it, I did find the HP-UX 11.11
version, and this worked just as well.
Thanks very much to James J. Perry for this URL which
shows the Starbase GL for HP-UX 11.0 is part of product
number B6268AA:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5187-0151/apas01.html
Using this number, I found a page titled "HP-UX 11.11
Graphics Technical Computing Environment", also product
number B6268AA, that includes the Starbase software:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6268AA
Just for reference, the Starbase software for HP-UX 10.20
is in a software bundle is titled "HP-UX 10.20 OS Graphics
Enablement", here:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6825AA
There are some nice 3D Starbase GL demos included with
the software that are very simple to compile and run.
These allow you to see the software is working properly
with your machine.

To: hp-ux admin <hpux-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
HP-UX Administrators,
I have an older CAD software package that requires the
HP Starbase Graphics Library be installed with the OS.
However, I am having trouble locating and installing
this HP software package. This is a C360 with a fresh
install of HP-UX 11.0 (May 1999, version B.11.00 A).
A HP Starbase release note for HP Visualize C-class
workstations running HP-UX 11.0 is here:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpv37174
This page says:
The box containing the "HP-UX 11.0 Install and Core OS"Unfortunately, I do not have this second CDROM, titled
CD-ROM will also hold a second CD-ROM entitled
"HP-UX 11.0 Core Operating Systems Options."
The Starbase run-time and developer's products are both
available on the HP-UX 11.0 Core Operating Systems
Options CD-ROM in the "Graphics and Technical Computing
Software" bundle.
"HP-UX 11.0 Core Operating Systems Options."
However, this HP document and other HP docs seem to
indicate the "Graphics and Technical Computing Software"
bundle is available for download. For example, the web
page
http://h30097.www3.hp.com/docs/STKS/SOLARIS.HTM
says:
The HP-UX 11.00 graphics technical computing environment
is available for download at:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ER
Here I find "HP-UX 10.20 OS Graphics Enablement Bundle"
that includes Starbase:
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6825AA
but nothing for HP-UX 11.0.
