[HPADM] Summary: HP-UX /dev/root

In a nutshell:
/dev/root is an emergency device file to allow the system
to bootup when your VG00 is messed up. Run lvlnboot -v and
vgdisplay -v vg00 to see if everything is normal. /dev/root
is created when you bootup with a bad root volume group.
Also check syslog for disk errors and /etc/rc.log for
bootup errors.
# lsdev | grep lvm
64 64 lv lvm

Thanks to the list,
fabio.
