I think that it is important to differentiate between Software Support Services (answering software-related technical questions, assisting with software procedures, etc.) and Software Update Support (new OS/Application releases)...

There are non-HP Software (and Hardware) Support providers in the market; however, Software Update Support is available only from HP, as they are the only ones that can release updates to HP-UX and HP Applications...
