[HPADM] Memory usage 11.31

Hi hp-ux experts,
We have upgraded half of our Itanium servers from v2 to v3
( from 11.23 to 11.31 ). We are using Oracle 10g and monitor
the resource usage through OEM ( Oracle Enterprise Manager ).
Unfortunately OEM's algorithm calculates an unreasonable high
RAM usage at v3. The diagrams for 24 hours or 7 days are now
useless as a guide for tuning RAM-related database parameters.
When we raised the issue with Oracle Metalink, some service
request jockey just threw their algorithm back at us. Now,
can anyone point out what makes that algorithm work out ok for
v2 but makes it produce inflated figures for v3?
<<From Oracle:
{cpuLoad_1min}|{cpuLoad_5min}|{cpuLoad_15min}|{PageScanRaw}|{noOfProcs}|
{noOfUsers}|{transfers}|{idleTimeRaw}|{userTimeRaw}|{systemTimeRaw}|
{waitTimeRaw}|{pageSize}|{realMem}|{freeMemRaw}|{usedSwapRaw }|{freeSwapRaw}
So Memory utilization for this data will be like following:
freeMem=freeMemRaw/1024
=2871455744.000000/1024
=2804156
realMem=12562580
Memory Utilization = ((realMem-freeMem)/realMem)*100
Memory Utilization= ((12562580-2804156)/12562580)100
= 77.6%
End from Oracle>>
Cheers
