Try "ls / | cat -v".
There can't be two directories with the same name.

Subject: [HPADM] two /tmp
One of the other admins tried to install a program as a non-privileged user. It needs to create a log file in /tmp. The error was could not create this log file. As that user I tried to touch the file and got an error.
I was planning on looking at the permissions of /tmp and the log file and noticed there are two /tmp directories.
I tried to umount /tmp but fuser reveled there are about 20 processes that have open files on /tmp
Any ideas?
TIA
Tom
