snmp subagent

Good day.
I am asked to make a program that would reply to snmp
GET/GETNEXT request. I was told that I can implement
this by making a SNMP subagent.And below are my
questions:
(1) can i make a subagent that is applicable for the
snmp implemented in linux (maybe net-snmp) and the
snmp implemented in solaris (SUN SNMP)? or to have
same subagent for both platform, I must implement the
net-snmp in solaris also?
(2) how can i make a subagent in solaris? is there a
step-by-step instruction on how to do in using a C
code?
i have very limited knowledge with snmp and hope
someone can shed me light on this matter.
