    Dear Sun Managers,

I've purchased a USB serial adapter from Quatech. I've
used up all my serial ports and I need another serial
port in order to communicate my sun machine to my
Uninterrupted Power Supply. It leaves me with no
choice but have to buy a USB serial adapter to convert
my USB to RS232 serial port.

I've checked thru the sun support website and found
out that the USB adapter is supported on my Sun
    hardware.

The details information for this USB convertor can be
    get from
    http://solutions.sun.com/NASApp/catalogs/en/US/adirect/sun?cmd=detail

However, I've encountered difficulty on this
configuration. My UPS seems like is unable to
communicate to my Sun machine via the USB convertor.

    My question are:

    (1) Do I need the driver for this?
    (2) What could be the problem on this?
    (3) Is the hardware supported on Sun Machine ?

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Regards,
    Tim

    .
