Hi,
I have 3 Sun 420R Enterprise Servers but only one
keyboard...
They had Sun Solaris 7 running on them earlier and I
could manage all of them using one keyboard.
At the OK prompt, I used to do boot -r and pull the
keyboard out of the port. The Server used to bootup
fine and even when I rebooted the servers using init
6, they used to comeup without any issues. This means I
had 3 servers running fine with one having the
keyboard attached and other 2 not..
But eversince I upgraded the OS to Solaris 8, I am
unable to do that..
The server boots fine by pulling the keyboard out
after boot -r at the OK prompt, but the XServer
refuses to come up and if I reboot the server using
init 6, it looks for the keyboard and doesn't comes
up.
I am unable to understand why it was working on
Solaris 7 and not on Solaris 8.
Is it something which I have done wrong or its just
not possible with OS as Solaris 8.
Please advice if someone knows about this mystery.
Thanks
Hemant
