    Thanks for the many responses. To summarize, No, you can't access the
    console through ttya (unless you are on an E250). If the machine
    freaks while the network is down you can either use a crossover cable
    or the console port on the rscs card itself (if it has one). Looks like
    I may be changing my opinion of the RSC port as it has one feature that
    makes it worthwhile...you can power on the machine with it.
