We are currently running a number of APC brand UPS:

            2 x SmartUPS 1400
            1 x SmartUPS 2200
            1 x SmartUPS 3000
            2 x MatrixUPS 5000

We are looking at buying two more large UPS on the scale of the MatrixUPS
5000. While getting quotes we also inquired about a similar product from other
    suppliers and received a quote for a Tripp-Lite Smart 5000. The Tripp-Lite
seems to be just as good as the APC and is considerably less expensive. We are
reluctant to switch since we have had no problems with our APC products and
are familiar with their setup and the PowerChute software.

In the forseeable future the new UPSs will have to power small workgroup and
midrange servers no bigger than a Sun Fire V880, but one of them may be moved
to a new server room in the future and have to handle heavier machines.

Has anyone had any expeirence (good or bad) with Tripp-Lite units?
