We have a Minolta DiALTA Di650 printer/copier/scanner with the Pi6500
Pro print controller option based on Fiery X3 technology.

We want to print to this printer from solaris (2.8). Has anyone done
this and willing to share their configuration?

I have created the printer using lpadmin like so:
    Banner: off
    Content types: any
    Device: /dev/null
    Interface: /usr/lib/lp/model/netstandard
    Printer type: unknown
    Modules:
    Options: dest=ro401mn6500.sph.unc.edu:text,protocol=bsd

I sent a test job with these results:
    # lpstat -p ro401mn6500
printer ro401mn6500 waiting for auto-retry. available.
    exec exit fault
    # lpq -P ro401mn6500
Warning: ro401mn6500 is down: exec exit fault
Rank Owner Job File(s) Total Size
    1st root 1345 PrintTest 361 bytes

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Helen
