Gurus, a quick question. After I modify the /etc/defaultrouter with a new
i.p address should I reboot? There's no mention of this in the man pages

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    I have an Ultra30 with a Creator 3D, series 3 (FFB2) installed.
We recently replaced the Sun GDM-20D10 CRT with a Samsung 171s
    17" LCD.

We're running the Samsung at 1280X1024@76 and it works fine, but
the fonts displayed are quite poor compared to previously, under CDE.

I have seen a Philips 170 LCD on another Sun, running KDE at the same
resolution, that doesn't seem to have the problem.

The fonts look anaemic, jagged and like they are aliased or something.

Can someone please recommend a set of fonts for the System and Terminal
application that gives the nice clean look we've been used to?

Also are there tips on tuning up a Sun FFB for use with an LCD screen?

    Thanks....
    rachel

I've created volume with one submirror. Then attached second submirror
to have redundancy. But it slowed down all operations on the mirror
and users works very slow. Is it possible to stop resync in any way?

    Hi All,
I have done a mirroring on my system. Now I need the
second disk to boot when the first crashes or at any
    circumstances.
I have copied the bootblk on to the secondary HDD.
This is my 2ng HDD info
    ls -l /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s1
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 74 Jun 6 14:05
    /dev/rdsk/c1t1d0s1 -> ../.
    ./devices/pci@8,600000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0/ssd@w500000e0102d0be1,0:b,raw
    I then gave
    # eeprom nvramrc="devalias backup
    /pci@8,600000/SUNW,qlc@2/fp@0,0/ssd@w500000e0102d0be1,0:b"
and whn I tried ot boot from my backup the system
starts booting from the net rather than the disk. Can
anyone let me know is there any pblm with my command
or what else should I do.
When I try boot disk1 the same thing happens. I t does
not boot from the disk it is booting from the HDD.
    I have also tried the
ok> nvalias backup ...... command. Same result.
    Thanks

    Hi ALL
I have a Low Voltage Differential (LVD)card in my Sun
Fire V880. I attached a regular Single Ended (SE) tape
drive (DLT 7000) to the machine and it does not read
my tape drive. Is there any settings on the system I
need to change to allow it to read the tape drive.
This tape drive works in a standed Single Ended card
    on a regular system.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi All,
I'm looking for a product such as the SDLT320 but that
can occupy two tapes - I've looked at Sun.com but all
I see are products that are way beyond my requirements
or units that are significantly slower than the
SDLT320. Can anyone recommend either a Sun or third
party product that would be comparable to a dual tape
SDLT320? It would be connected this to a Sun Fire
    280R.
The reason I'm asking is because I would like to be
able to make full system backups of the box on 1 tape,
and strickly database backups on another tape.
Preferably I would do both nightly, or maybe just the
    full backup every couple days.
All data including OS would probably only be about
    15GB.
    Thanks,
    Joe
