    Dear maagers,

    Thanks to all (too many to list the names) that responded to my
    question: I finally got the problem solved by soldering together the
    following null modem cable on my own.

    9 PIN SuB D female <-----------------------> 25 PIN SuB D male
    Pin 2 --------------------------- Pin 2
    Pin 3 --------------------------- Pin 3
    Pin 5 --------------------------- Pin 7

    3-Wire handshake is sufficient.

    Thanks a lot,

        Andreas
