I have just upgraded our development system up to Solaris 9, using
liveupdate. After applying all the required patches and such I still have a
couple of outstanding issues. The most annoying is an error I encounter
when rebooting via "init 6". The shutdown process starts..then I get the
message "automountd not running retrying". At this point the system
hangs(well I haven't waited beyond 20 minutes). I have to send a break to
the system to recover. The result is a lot of time fscking my filesystems
on reboot. I have avoided the trouble by umounting everything before
issuing the init 6, but don't like that solution/work around.
Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve McClure
