pkgadd corrupt file - whoops - typo

    I had a typo in the last post

    I was actually doing a ...

    pkgadd -d ./tcpdump-3.7.2-sol8-sparc-local

    ... and I got the error below

    (the .gz was the typo)

    Any suggestions would be warmly welcomed

    I have recently downloaded the tcpdump solaris8 package from
    sunfreeware.com namely, tcpdump-3.7.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz

    I placed the file in /tmp and when I ran ..

    pkgadd -d ./tcpdump-3.7.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz

    ... I got ...

    pkgadd: ERROR: no packages were found in </var/tmp/dstreAAAZMaWTZ

    and then when I ran ...

    pkgadd tcpdump-3.7.2-sol8-sparc-local.gz

    ... I got ...

    pkgadd: ERROR: no packages were found in </var/spool/pkg>

    Is this a corrupt package?
