    Thanks to Alan Pae who pointed me to an article on Sunsolve. It appears that
    that particular error occurs when the SSA firmware checksum is incorrect. There
    are work arounds to prevent it happening on an upgrade, but apparantly the only
    fix is a replacement of the controller board.

    We have ordered this replacement and are going to try installing it.

    Thanks also to the 5 people who have auto-responders going. That's better than
    last time.
