    Dear list members,

i am facing some problem related to largefiles.

Environment is an NFS automounted solaris 7 machines.

on one of the machines ( capricorn ) we have created a partition of 16
GB which is NFS automounted. there is just one user home directoy on
this partition. there is no other slice on this HDD.

when the user remotely rlogins to this machine and tries to write a file
larger than 2 GB, he is not able to do so. ( NFS is not used i guess in
    this case )

on this machine, various dumps are as follows

    1) vfstab

    /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s2
    /capricorn/export/home0 ufs 2 yes rw,largefiles

    2) mount command response ...( user is gatesim and his home dir path is
    /capricorn/export/home0/gatesim

    /capricorn/export/home0/gatesim on /home/gatesim type lofs
    read/write/setuid

    /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 on /capricorn/export/home0 type ufs
    read/write/setuid/largefiles

Note that home directory is not mounted with largefiles. but we have
given the option as largefiles in vfstab ( i guess default is largefiles
but still we gave explicit option in vfstab )

    3) isainfo -kv

    64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules

what could be the problem ?
