It has been a while since I posted to this list. I had forgotton how great of
a resource it really is. I wish to thank the five people who have responded
    (so far):

    Bertrand Hutin
    Steve Hill
    Joe Fletcher
    Steve Butterfield
    Stuart Whitby

Every one of which who had the obvious correct answer to this question: the
L280 is differential and the t1 is single ended. Steve even provided me with a
Sun part number (X6541A) which is a PCI-to-SCSI-diferential adapter that
    should work.

My original post was as follows:

I am attempting to get a Sun L280 (tape jukebox) to work with a Sun Netra t1.
Whenever the L280 is plugged into the SCSI bus, no other SCSI devices can be
seen. I know this is a simple SCSI issue, but everything I have tried
physically (reducing cable length, adding termination, changing location on
the bus etc.) makes no difference. Is there some configuration setting I am
missing on the L280 control panel? Or is it something else?

I have searched the archives for L280 to no avail. I will post a summary,
