We have CPCi sparc blades (Sun on a card) that come configured with the boot device set to "disk net". I can not see any reason for the net device to be listed second. If the disk fails, I think it would be far better to drop to the ok prompt rather than get in the endless "Time out waiting for ARP/RARP" loop. Also, I think that setting the diag-device also to disk or blank is better than leaving it set to net. Does any one have any thoughts on this? Could there be any negative consequences?
