    Hi Managers,

Thanks to the following for pointing out the out mistake in the devalias.
    instead of dad@2,0 I should use disk@2,0 (/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/disk@2,0).
    Mitchell, John
    Reggie Beavers
    Paul Richards
    Darren Dunham
    Paul Ketelaar

I can boot from the second disk now.

    Thanks again

    Hi Mangaers,

I have 2 disks in my Ultra10 as shown here:

    Inside system in format command:

     0. c0t0d0 <Seagate Medalist 34342A cyl 8892 alt 2 hd 15 sec 63>
              /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@0,0
     1. c0t2d0 <ST340014A cyl 65529 alt 2 hd 16 sec 63>
              /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,0

    and at the OK prompt

    ok probe-ide
      Device 0 ( Primary Master )
              ATA Model: ST34342A

      Device 1 ( Primary Slave )
             Not Present

      Device 2 ( Secondary Master )
              ATA Model: ST340014A

      Device 3 ( Secondary Slave )
             Removable ATAPI Model: CRD-8240B

My current boot disk is disk0 as:

    disk0 /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/disk@0,0

booting from disk0 is fine, but when I want to boot from the second disk I can't . This is what I have done so far:

    1. ufsdump of c0t0d0s0 and ufsrestore to c0t2d0s0

    2. Installed the boot block on c0t2d0s0.

    3. Created a devalias at ok prompt for my second disk as:

     otherroot /pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@2,0

    after reset and run

    boot otherroot

I get the following error message:

                     Can't open boot device

    Where am I making mistake?

Thanks for your help in advance.

    Sriman
