Hi All,
Apologies for what may be a simple question - I have searched on google and
not found a satisfactory answer.
I would like to know what the meaning of the iostat columns are, for
example, if I had the following output:
sd3 Soft Errors: 0 Hard Errors: 0 Transport Errors: 0
Vendor: HITACHI Product: OPEN Revision: 5246 Serial No: 532624
Size: 7.38GB <7383859200 bytes>
Media Error: 0 Device Not Ready: 0 No Device: 0 Recoverable: 0
Illegal Request: 0 Predictive Failure Analysis: 0
What would it mean if I had a 1 under "Soft Errors" or under "Transport
Errors" or under "Soft Errors" AND under "No Device", etc. ?
If you can point me to a link explaining things that would also be great.
Thanks. I will summarise.
Regards.
