    A junior admin with root access (don't they all start that way) has
    done "God only knows what" to the /usr/bin/ps command. This is on a
    well patched Solaris 9 system.

    My intent is to restore /usr/bin/ps and what ever supporting mechanisms
    take care of it.

    a "pkgchk -l" shows this concerning /usr/bin/ps

    ==========================

    Pathname: /usr/bin/ps
    Type: linked file
    Source of link: ../../usr/lib/isaexec
    Referenced by the following packages:
            SUNWcsu
    Current status: installed

    ==========================

    I also ran this on SUNWcsc

    ==========================

    # pkginfo SUNWcsu
    system SUNWcsu Core Solaris, (Usr)

    ==========================

    I have concerns reinstalling the package "SUNWcsc" to get back
    /usr/bin/ps functionality. Is this the path that I would want to take?

    Second, as stated earlier, this is a well patched system currently, and
    I am certain that re-installing this package would have an effect on
    patches. I use patch diag tool to track my levels with current Sun
    patch levels. How would re-installing the "SUNWcsc" core Solaris
    package effect currently packages?

    Thanks for any replies,

    Jerry K
