I have a couple of questions about health checking in SUN cluster 3.

I have created a GDS type resource for samba and am trying to work out the
    best way to monitor.

Before connections the nmbd daemon listens on UDP ports 137 and 138, the
smbd daemon doesn't listen on any port.

    Questions

    1) Port monitoring does not seem to work for UDP ports, can someone confirm
    this for me?

2)Instead I am using the following probe command

    /usr/bin/ps -ef | grep /usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd | /usr/bin/grep -v grep

If I kill smbd, (or nmbd) nothing happens. However when I kill both, Cluster
successfully restarts samba. I have tried lots of different options with
this but with this particular one I don't understand why killing smbd
    doesn't cause cluter to restart.

    Can anyone help.
