    Hi Gurus,

The 1st question (Disk idle time) I thought I got to be more specific ......
Want the percentage of time, during a set interval (every second), where no
disk activity on any of the disks.

As an example, over a period of 100 seconds, there were two disks active, one
for the first 20 seconds, and the other for the first 30 seconds. The
percentage time where there was hard drive activity would be 30% and the time
where there was no hard drive activity, or percentage of idle time would be
       (100 - 30)/100 = 70%.

As another example (still over 100 seconds), there were three disks active,
the first was active for the first 10 seconds, the second was active for the
next 10 seconds, but the third was only active for the first 5 seconds. The
total time where there existed any drive activity would be 20 seconds. So the
       total percentage of idle time would be (100 - (10 + 10))/100 = 80%.

Log the above data (Disk idle time % )every second for 24 hours on daily basis.

Any help/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated will summarise.

    Thanks

    Original question

    Hi Gurus,

Disk and memory stats with time stamp

    1. Total disk idle time(%)
I'm after total disk idle time not individual disks.

I found sar and iostat where they provide on individual level, but I'm
    interested in totals.

(strikethrough: 2. Free physical memory, I'm bit confused with the two figures
