Good morning SunManagers,
I have several 880's running Solaris 8 with a kernel patch of 108528-19.
We have a program/process which uses UDP to communicate between nodes and when a component fails on a server it takes about 60 seconds for the system to successfully restart the component.
When we try to manually restart the app before this 60 second timeout we get a "cannot bind to port" error message. I have been through the configuration parameters for /dev/udp and cannot see any TIME_WAIT-like settings.
1. Are the settings for /dev/tcp and /dev/udp related?
2. Can an adjustment of time_wait parameters for /dev/tcp help me with lowering this interval?
3. How can I lower this threshold?
Thanks in advance.
