    Dear All,

The company i work for have a sun fire 6800 and 4 T3 array connected to
it. Recently, we faced quite a
number of power trips over our side and we were thinking of getting UPS
    for the 6800 and 4 T3 array.

On the sun technical specification, the power rating for the 6800 is
    6800VA. However the vendor has
provided me a solution of 5KVA . Is this more than adequate ?? Using
the UPS selector software at APC website
seems to give me much lower VA, ~3KVA ( 3 CPU board, 2 processors each
). Anyone knows the actual power requirement
    ??

Also , for the T3 array, i know that internally there is a UPS battery
    located within the PCU.
As the ac power input failed, it will allowed the T3 to flush the cache
    data back to the disk.
In this case, do we really need any UPs for the T3??

Hope someone can advise me. Thanks

    Regards
    kim chong
