    List,

I implemented pam_cracklib in solaris 8, after compiling the source
    code.

It worked fine, after making appropriate entries in the /etc/pam.conf
    file.

Later I reverted back the changes made to the pam.conf file.

The system started to hang and I went for a reboot, when the system came
up it gave error stating " no user id root".

Hence I booted the system through cdrom in singer user mode ( and all
the steps) and brought up the system. Now the system is fine. But quite a
    few user accounts are missing.

Can any one tell me , if changes are made to pam.conf ( they way I did
using pam_cracklib) can it be restored back, if you have a backup copy.

    Thanks...Hemanth
