UPS problem

Hi. Gurus.
We have plan to install SF 3800 + UPS. (ie. 220 AC at one RTS and UPS power
at another RTS)
If power failure occured and UPS was changed in battery operation mode
how can OS know this situation in certain domain? There no serial input
to recieve power failure signal from UPS. I don't think it's possible
to receive signal via serial input of SC.
